Robert W. Dammarell, Age 75, of Lake Station, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 1999.  An area resident for most of his life, he was born May 18, 1923 in Simpson, Saskatchewan, Canada to the late Frank & Cora Dammarell.  He was a retired automotive mechanic with the A. Metz Company.  He also worked for the Hobart Township Assessor.

He was a member of American Legion Post 454 in New Chicago and V.F.W. Post 5365 of Hobart.

He is survived by 3 sons, Ronald (Judy) Dammarell of London, KY, Randy (Lisa) Dammarell of Hobart, Richard (Shelly) Dammarell of Hebron; 1 daughter, Renee (Ronald) Cox of Hobart; loving companion, Clara Hogan of Chesterton; 2 brothers, Richard Dammarell of Hobart, Donald (Shirley) Dammarell of Georgia; 1 sister, Edna (Richard) Whitten of Lake Station; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by 2 wives, Gladys Anderson and Dolores Carmody, and 1 sister, June Williams.

Memorial gifts are preferred to the Cerebral Palsy of Northwest Indiana, Inc., or to the family in lieu of flowers.  Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 19, 1999 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart with American Legion Post 454 officiating.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.  Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Thursday with a 7 p.m. American Legion service at the Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
