Marvine Curl, 77, of Texico, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, at her
home.
She was born on Jan. 9, 1930, in Evanston, the daughter of John Marvin Whitson
and Evelyn Garrison. She married David Curl on Sept. 13, 1950, in Mt. Vernon,
and he preceded her in death on Jan. 6, 1988. She was a telephone operator and
later owned a restaurant in Nashville.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix.
Burial will follow at Jordan Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to
8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Union Chapel Cemetery and will be received at Osborn
Funeral Home, P.O. Box 130, Dix, Ill 62830.
Marvine is survived by her sons, Fred Curl of Mt. Vernon, Ned Curl and wife
Mary of Logan, Kit Curl of Mt. Vernon, and Bart Curl of Chicago; daughters,
Nancy Buchholz and husband Martin of Hoyleton, and Patricia Kruger and husband
Harold of Katy, Texas; 10 grandchildren; brother, Jack Whitson and wife Pat of
Mt. Juliette, Tenn.; brother-in-law, Mack Longmire of Anna; and sister, Marvelyn
Teevin of Mt. Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Carman Longmire.
Marvine attended high school in Chicago and graduated from Mt. Vernon Township
High School and attended Union Chapel United Methodist Church.
