He was born Aug. 16, 1921, at Biggers to the late Ratha and Myrtle [Poteet] Cox. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, William, Earl and Gene Cox. He took very good care of his first wife [Ruby Gerow] until her death in 1997.

He is survived by his wife, Andrea Cox of the home; son, James Ross of Reyno; daughter, Mary Kay Holden of Dexter, Mo.; granddaughter, Alexa Atkinson of Dexter; brother, Howard Cox of Arkadelphia; numerous nieces and nephews; and the family pet, Poncho.

Mr. Cox was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 561 in Pontiac, Mich., a member of the American Legion; and of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Cox, in his younger days, enjoyed hunting and fishing. 

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Roger Hovis officiating. Burial will follow in Johnston Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. prior to service.
