JULIA COUNCIL, 97 RESIDENT 43 YEARS DIED TODAY
Mrs. Julia Council, 97, widow of Nick Council, died early today at the home of
her daughter Mrs. Hazel Peek, at De Kalb.
Mrs. Council had resided in West Frankfort 43 years at 309 East Poplar street .
She left nine years ago to make her home with her daughter in De Kalb.
In addition to Mrs. Peek, she is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Joe Prince
of McLeansboro; a son, John Council of Lakeland , Fla.; two grandchildren who
reside in this City, Mrs. John Henshaw and Harold Nipper, and five other
grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. George Nipper and two sons preceded her in
death.
The body will lie in state after 7 p.m. Wednesday at Gholson funeral home at
McLeansboro. Funeral arrangements today were incomplete awaiting arrival of the
son.
