OBITUARY

Name:  Asariah Charles Combs

A. C. Combs, a well known and highly respected citizen of this community, died at his home Sunday night at 8 o'clock, at the age of 74 years, 7 months, and 18 days.  He was born near Ridgeway, Illinois, on Aug. 17th, 1861, and came to this county and community some 30 years ago, where he has lived ever since. 

He was happily married to Miss Malissa Mayberry on Sept. 15th, 1881, who survives him, together with one son, Charley; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Welker and Mrs. Edith Patrick, all of whom live here, and were with him when he went away.  He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and one niece, Mrs. W. W. Asbell, besides other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the home Monday, at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Silas Walker of Bloomfield; after which the body was interred in the Bloomfield Cemetery in the presence of a large crowd of sorrowing relatives and friends, Chiles service.
