CASPER -- Funeral services for Casper resident Violet L. Coles, 94, were conducted Friday, Dec. 3, at Bustard's Funeral Home and Crematory by the Rev. A.G. Miller of First Assembly of God Church. Interment followed in Highland Cemetery.

She died Nov. 26, 2004, at Wyoming Medical Center.

Born Dec. 26, 1909, in Douglas, she was the daughter of Charles T. and Rebecca (Humberson) Phillips; and, in 1911, moved with the family to Casper, where she was raised and educated.

On April 24, 1931, she married Vern L. Coles in Casper. Her husband preceded her in death in 1969, after 38 years of marriage.

She enjoyed sewing, hunting, fishing, playing cards and games, and spending time with her family. Active in Central Wyoming Senior Center, she also belonged to the Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors include two daughters, Verna Green of Riverside, Calif., and Vickie Bordeaux and her husband of Casper; two sons and their wives, Von Coles of Nederland, Texas, and Van Coles of Casper; sister, Rose Cash, and her husband of Casper; two brothers and their wives, John Phillips of Thermopolis and Tom Phillips of Casper; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; her twin, who died at birth; an infant son, who died at birth; an infant grandson; and an infant great-granddaughter.
