OBITUARY

Name:   Rena H. (Copley) Carpenter

Mrs. Rena Copley Carpenter, 85, died June 4, 1963 in the Blossburg  Hospital.  She was the widow of Archie Carpenter, formerly of Hills Creek,  RD 1.  She also resided in Mansfield, Ossining, N.Y., Penn Yan, N.Y., and Morris, Pa.

Mrs. Carpenter was a graduate of Mansfield Normal School , class of 1895, and was present at the 60th reunion of her class in 1955.  She taught a number of years in the schools at Middlebury, Niles Valley and Hills Creek.  She, at one time was active in the Crooked Creek Grange, WCTU and Helpful Home Circle.

Survivors are a daughter, Helen, Mrs. Al Jensen of Penn Yan, N.Y.; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mildred Carpenter (Mrs. Ivan), Ossining, N.Y., sister, Mrs. Alice Fleming, Phoenix, Arizona; brother, Charles Copley, Crooked Creek; grandchildren, Keith Carpenter, Mendham, N.J.; Mrs. Phyllis Blotchley, Groton, N.Y.; Kenneth Carpenter, Fresno, Calif.; Lynn Carpenter, Washington D.C.; James Carpenter, Mendham, N.J.; and Robert Jensen, Penn Yan, N.Y.; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held this afternoon (Thursday) June 6 at Johnson and Tussey Funeral Home w3ith Rev. Shaw of Hills Creek officiating. Burial will be in Hills Creek Cemetery.
