Farmington, Feb. 2 -- Mr. Luther Carpenter, who had been sick for a long time, died this morning.

Keeneyville, French Hill, Feb 2 -- Mr. Luther Carpenter, who suffered with paralysis about two months, passed peacefully away on Monday morning about 6 o'clock.  Mr. Carpenter had been in very poor health for a long time.  The wonderful presence of mind that he manifested during this was something remarkable for his age.

Mr. Carpenter was born in Middlebury Center and [illegible] . He had lived here on the farm [illegible] communities.  He was a good neighbor, kind hearted and friendly.  He had been joyful and faithful throughout his life.
