Mrs. Emma Lindsay Carpenter, wife of A. B. Carpenter, died at 6:30 o'clock Wednesday morning at her home at Wellsboro Junction.  She had been an invalid for the past three years.

Mrs. Carpenter was born in England and came to America with her parents when she was a child.  In January 1885, she married A. B. Carpenter, at Hornell.  They removed in 1888 to Delmar township and for the past 27 years had lived on their farm at Wellsboro Junction.  She reared several children other than her own besides an adopted daughter, Mrs. Thomas A. Roberts of Wellsboro who survives, with her husband and a sister, Mrs. Charles Bartles, of Hornell.

The funeral was held at the home Friday at 9:30 a.m., Rev. C. F. Hutchinson, pastor of the Methodist church officiating; burial in Hornell.
