OBITUARY

Name:   Charles V. Carpenter

C. V. Carpenter was born in Chatham township June 15, 1862, the third son of Charles and Sarah Carpenter. He died July 2, 1930, at the age of 68 years. He spent his entire life in Chatham Township where he was respected by all.

He leaves two sons, Lee and Glen; grandson, Charles, all residing at home; three brothers, Everett and E. J. Carpenter of Little Marsh; P. T. Carpenter of Westfield and one sister of Cowanesque.

Mr. Carpenter was a delegate at the Dairymen's League and was attending the convention at Albany when taken sick. He was removed to the Cooperstown hospital where he died twelve days later.

The funeral was held July 6; interment in the Wormer Cemetery, Rev. Rosengrant, of Little Marsh, officiating.

He was a member of the Little Marsh Methodist Church, the Grange and Modern Woodmen. Bearers were Neil Carpenter, of Little Marsh, Valorous Carpenter, of Corning; Cecil Griffin, of Westfield; Dr. John Eaton, of Wellsboro, and Samuel Spurgeon, of Mansfield.
