Charles E. Carpenter, aged 72 years died Feb 20 at his home in Middlebury.

He is survived by three sons, Lawrence and Earl Carpenter of Middlebury and George Carpenter of Lockport, NY; also one brother and one sister, M. W. Carpenter of Middlebury; Mrs. Stella Evarts of Muncy, PA.

 The funeral was held Saturday; burial in the Middlebury cemetery.
