Mr. and Mrs. Carpenter lived in Chatham Township until Oct. 18, 1907, when they moved to the Lyman Copley farm in Richmond, where they lived until last April when, on account of his prolonged illness, they moved to Mansfield.
He was a member of the Keeneyville Odd Fellows' Lodge, the Christian Alliance church of Holiday and Crooked Creek Grange.
Survivors include his widow, one son, Ivan C. of Ossining, NY; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Haddeau of Penn Yan; two sisters, Mrs. John Ryan and Lottie Carpenter, both of Niles Valley; a brother, James D. Carpenter of Osceola and grandchildren, Keith, Phyllis and Kenneth Carpenter of Ossining, NY.
The funeral was held Sunday; burial in the Hills Creek Cemetery.
His sister, Mrs. Ernest Monks died Sept. 1, 1936, and his brother Clarence died when he was 12 years old.
