Opal Campbell, the
daughter of the late L.R. "Pat" and Talitha Aslin
Patterson, was born in Keo, Ark., on Oct. 5, 1915, and died at the Crowley
Ridge Care Center in Dexter on Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at the age of 89.
Mrs. Campbell had lived in Dexter most of her life. She was a member of the
First Baptist Church in Dexter.
In 1934 she was married to Louis A. Doerr in
Bloomfield. He preceded her in death. In 1978 she was married to Harry
Campbell, and he preceded her in death in 1982. Also preceding her in death
were two brothers, L. R. Patterson Jr. and Jimmie Patterson; and four sisters,
Barbara Mouser, Pauline Hardy, Ruth Wann and Patricia Patterson.
Surviving are two daughters, Margarette Norman of St. Louis and Pat
Heitmann of Belton; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three
great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Loyce Reed and Virginia Parker, both
of Dexter.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2005, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2005, in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with Rev. Kevin Chenoweth of Dexter officiating.
Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
