Joyce Faye Campbell, 71, of Evansville, Indiana, died Thursday, June 6, 2002 at 4:24 p.m. at Deaconess Hospital
Joyce was a member of St. James West United Methodist Church, where she taught children's Sunday School while her daughter was young. She also was a member of the Poplar Grove Neighborhood Association and served as secretary for several terms. She was a member of the deaconess Hospital Auxiliary.
She enjoyed gardening, decorating, and helping others. Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed for her caring ways. She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Howard Smith, and brother, Dickie Smith.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 51 years, Doyle E. Campbell; a daughter, Jana Lynn Hughes and son-in-law Richard H. Hughes of Mount Vernon, Ind.; two grandchildren, Lori Lynn Hughes and Brett Alan Hughes of Mount Vernon, Ind.; her mother, Harriet Emerson of Enfield, Ill; a brother, Billie Smith of Enfield, Ill.; and a sister, Peggy Kellum of Forrest City, Ark.
Services will be on Monday, June 10, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Dr. Keith Adkins. Burial will be in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may call Sunday, June 9, 20902, from noon to 6 p.m. at Alexander West Chapel.
Donations may be made to St. James West United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
