Jeanette Garrison Byers, 88, of Evansville, passed away Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007, at her residence.

Jeanette was born in Tennyson, Ind., and graduated from Tennyson High School.  She and two of her sisters formed a gospel trio as teenagers, and sang at churches and various social events throughout Southwestern Indiana.  Later, she and her husband performed gospel music in Evansville area churches as well as on radio and television.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed doll collecting.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, Arthur Garrison and Minnie McDaniel Garrison; three sisters, Alice, Mamie and Annizene; three brothers, Bert, Ora and Albert.

Jeanette is survived by her husband of 68 years, Ray Byers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Stamps and his staff, as well as the dedicated nurses and support staff at the Visiting Nurse Association and VNA Hospice.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Meyer Chapel, 100 E. Columbus St., Evansville, Ind. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug 16, 2007, and Thursday, 9 a.m. to time of service at the funeral home.
