Memorial funeral services for John Watson Bryant will be conducted in Memory Chapel at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon by the Rev. Everett F. Hezmall of the Federated Church.  Internment of the cremains will be the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Diamond Springs.

Born in Diamond Springs Sep 16, 1886, the son and grand-son of early-day pioneer families that had come there from New York, his family was engaged in lumbering in that area until his grandfather, Joseph Bryant died.  Then they moved to Sacramento and Mr. Bryant and his father, Charles Freeman Bryant, followed the real estate business in North Sacramento until his father died in 1936.  Mr. Bryant continued to live in that area following the mining and construction fields until his illness, which eventually forced his hospitalization.  He died Oct. 7 in a Martinez hospital.

Surviving are two sons, Charles of Sacramento and Robert of Berkeley; a sister, Mrs. Emily Gerard of Georgetown; a brother, Kenneth Bryant of Red Deer, Alberta, Canada; one niece, Emily Warner; and two nephews, Charles Jones and William A. Gerard, all of Georgetown; and one grandchild.
