Paul R. Brandenburg, 73, victim of a
stabbing on the night of June 13, in Pasadena died early Friday in St. Luke
Hospital, Pasadena, police reported.
Humbert Medina, 30, of 2265 White St., Pasadena, arrested at that time on a
deadly weapon assault charge and later released on a writ, was rearrested today
for investigation of murder, Police Agent Ben Hetherington reported.
Brandenburg, of 127 Greenwood Ave., was standing on the sidewalk in front of a
bar where he was employed, at 1758 E. Colorado Blvd., about 9 p.m. when a man
ran up and stabbed him in the abdomen. The suspect fled, jumped in his car
and drove away, but collided with another auto when making a U-turn to escape.
A license number was obtained and parts of the suspect's car were found on the
street.
Medina, found at his home, denied knowing of a stabbing.
