Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Christian Church with the Rev. Beverly Cook officiating. Burial will be in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home at Spearman.
Mr. Blodgett was born Aug. 23, 1920, in Ochiltree County. He married Johanne Studer on Dec. 27, 1946, in Canadian.
He was mayor from 1976 to 1988, the president of Texas Municipal League in 1984 and past president of Texas Tech Ex-Students Association. He owned and operated B&B Grain and B&B Farm Industries for 50 years.
He was a staunch Democrat. There were three generations of Texas Tech grads in his family.
Mr. Blodgett was a pilot and owned his own plane for many years. He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Spearman and was a World War II veteran in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Survivors include his wife, Johanne Blodgett; a son, Glenn Blodgett DVM and wife Karen of Guthrie; a daughter, Marilyn Cline of Spearman; four grandchildren, Buffie Guynes and husband Michael of Keller, Brandie Mustian and husband Mike of Weatherford, Grady Cline and wife Heather of Elkhart, Kan., and Bethany Cline of Spearman; and seven great-grandchildren, Claire Guynes, Rebecca Guynes and Catherine Guynes, all of Keller, Myla Mustian of Weatherford and Shelby Sasser, Cambry Cline and Rhys Cline, all of Elkhart.
The family suggests memorials be to Hansford Library, 122 Main St., Spearman, TX 79081-2064; Grace Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 295, Spearman, TX 79081-0295; or a favorite charity.
