David Scott Bertschy, 39, of Lanagan, Mo., formerly of Bentonville, Ark., died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Mo. He was born Nov. 11, 1964, in Gravette, Ark., to Rex Bertschy and Dana Sanders Bertschy.
He spent most of his early life in the Bentonville area. He was employed as a law clerk in Kansas City, Mo., for six years. He lived in Pineville, Mo., for three years. He enjoyed using the Internet, playing cards and restoring old furniture.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Dana Bertschy, and his maternal grandmother, Nell McCurdy.
Survivors include three brothers and a sister-in-law, Shawn Price and Michelle Price, and Jason Rivett, all of Bentonville, Ark., and Jonathan Rivett of Rogers, Ark.; two stepbrothers, Patrick Rivett and his wife Tina Rivett of Enid, Okla., and David Rivett of Springdale, Ark.; a stepsister, Melissa Nichols and her husband Richard Nichols of Pittsburg, Kan.; and three aunts, Wilma Anglin and her husband Leonard Anglin of Jenks, Okla., Sherron Ellis and her husband Tucker Ellis of Pineville, Mo., and Brenda Cole of Bentonville.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, at the Ozark Funeral Home Chapel in Anderson, Mo., with the Rev. Larry Jones and the Rev. Jim Haffecke. Burial will be at the Pineville Cemetery in Pineville, Mo. Pallbearers will be Kevin Whited, Jonathan Rivett, Rick Riley, David Rivett, Jason Rivett and Shawn Price. Honorary pallbearers will be Rich Overman, George Caspescha and John Thompson. Memorials may be made to the Pineville Cemetery Care Fund, in care of Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Mo.
