Mrs. Viola Bassinger, St. Monica's Nursing Home, age 80, passed away, Thursday, April 1, 1976 at the Lincoln Convalescent Center.  Mrs. Bassinger was born in Racine on Sept. 5, 1895 and had been a lifetime resident.  She was employed at Johnson Wax for many years, last working in 1961.  Mrs. Bassinger was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Catholic Women's Club.

Surviving are nieces a nephews including Mrs. Don (Doris) Mundt of Racine and Mrs. James (Mary) Hardig of South Bend, Ind.  She was preceded in death by her husband George in 1940 [sic].

Friends and relatives will meet on Monday, April 5 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church.  Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery.  Friends may call on Sunday, April 4 after 6 p.m. at the Acklam Funeral Home, 729 Grand Ave.  The scripture reading will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
