Mrs. Aurilla Barnes, who had lived in Clay county many years, passed away at the Clay Center Municipal hospital Saturday evening, April 9th, at the age of 68 years. Mrs. Barnes had been in declining health for some time, but death came rather unexpectedly. She was a truly good woman and was greatly loved by her family and a wide circle of relatives and friends.

She leaves to mourn her going, four sons and two daughters, Warren and Forrest Barnes of Mountain Grove, Mo., Mrs. Merna Patterson, Lester and Lowell Barnes all of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Marian Stegman of Clay Center, also fourteen grandchildren and seven sisters--Mrs. Laura Ensign and Mrs. Lily Berrier of Clay Center, Mrs. William McNeill of Broughton, Mrs. Charles Sherbert of Wakefield, Mrs. John Shaw of Hugo, Colo., Mrs. Frank Cutting of Lenora, Kansas, and Mrs. Egar Jevons of Kutch, Colo.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First M.E. church in Clay Center, with Rev. L. F. Arend, presiding.
