Former Resident of Owosso Dies

Funeral services were held in Ypsilanti Monday for Arbela Edgar Barnes of that city, formerly of Owosso. Mrs. R. Wallace Teed, of Ann Arbor, officiated and burial took place at Ypsilanti. Mr. Barnes died last Thursday at the University of Michigan hospital where he had been under treatment for the last six weeks.

Born August 2, 1891, in St. Louis, Mich., Mr. Barnes was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Barnes. He was married on August 10, 1912, to Miss Nina Nixon of Owosso, and lived here until 1936, when they moved to Ypsilanti. He was a member of the Corunna Avenue Methodist Church.

Surviving are his widow, three sons, Lieut. (JG) Orville Barnes, now in active service with the Navy; Wendell C. Barnes of Ypsilanti, and John F. Barnes at home. He also leaves four daughters, Mrs. Richard Cook, Mary, Ernestine, Shirley and Carol, all of Ypsilanti. Other survivors are his mother, three brothers, Paul of St. Johns, Frank and Dean of Ithaca, and a sister, Mrs. Clyde Wood of Perrinton, Mich.
