Name:   Ruth May (Asbell) Barker

Ruthy May Barker, daughter of the late William Wesley Asbell and Grace Davis Asbell, was born at Avert on Jan. 1, 1915 and died at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Sunday, October 7 at the age of 75.

Mrs. Barker was a member of the First General Baptist Church of Dexter and was active in the Women's Missionary Society of the church.

On Feb 11, 1934, she was united in marriage to William Elmer Barker at Bloomfield.

She is survived by her husband, William Elmer Barker of the home in Dexter; two sons: Dale E. Barker and Robert A. Barker, both of Dexter; one daughter, Melba Rogers of Dexter; two brothers, Louis Asbell and Walter Asbell, both of Bloomfield; two sisters: Virgie Wilson and Mary Killmer, both of Dexter; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; also other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Clifford Wray, pastor of the First General Baptist Church of Dexter, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery with Rainey Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
