Valentine Walter "Wally" Bahun, age 88, of Maryville, TN, formerly of Gary and Highland, IN, passed away, Thursday, September 25, 2008.

Survived by his loving wife Estelle (Pepoff); sons, Val (Carla) Bahun of Waleska, GA, Robert (Julie) Bahun of Potomac Falls, VA; daughters, Leslie (David) Aulie of Orchard Lake, MI, Nancy (Joe) Yearout of Maryville, TN; grandchildren, Adam (Amy) Bahun, Keith Bahun, Mark (Brandi) Luptak, Erin and Sarah Luptak, Kristen and Kaitlin Aulie, Caroline Bahun, Charlie and Anna Gruenberg; one great-grandchild, Parker Bahun; sister, Anne (Ted) Sikora of Albany GA; many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents, Valentine and Katherine Bahun; brother Mark Bahun; sisters Rose Wozniak and Mary Tarpo.

Wally was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Croation Catholic Church since 1948.  He was a lifelong member of the Croation Fraternal Union Lodge 170, and became president of CFU Lodge 170 in 1984.  He continued to serve for many years as Vice President, was on the Board of Directors, and served as a Convention Delegate beginning in 1979 at the Toronto Convention.  He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post #214.  Wally was a retired accountant from Wonder Bread Bakery in Gary.  He was a precinct Committeeman for many years in Glen Park. In earlier years, Walter was manager for Junedale Little League and Senior League teams. He loved to golf and shared that love with his children and family.

Friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service, 6360 Broadway, Merrillville, Sunday from 2 to 7 p.m. Prayer service at 5:30 p.m.  Funeral service will be Monday, September 29, 2008 at 9:30 from Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 10:00 a.m. from St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 330 E. 45th St., Gary, with Rev. Stephen Loncar officiating. At rest, Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville.  Memorials preferred to Croation Fraternal Scholarship Fund.
