Mark was a retired foreman at United States Steel, Gary Works. He was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church in Crown Point. He was a member of Dunes Masonic Lodge in Portage, Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend, Glen Park Izaak Walton League, and he was past president of B.A.S.E. Credit Union.

He was preceded in death by son, Walter Jerry Bahun, and 2 sisters, Mary Tarpo and Rose Wozniak.

Survived by wife, Lucy; 2 daughters, Carole (Kenneth) Waters of Monticello, KY, and Judith (Bernard) Lavery of Bluffton, SC; 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren; 1 brother, Walter (Estelle) Bahun of Maryville, TN; 1 sister, Ann (Ted) Sikora of Albany, GA; nieces and nephews.

Funeral service Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville. Rev. Mark Wilkins, officiating. Burial Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 8:00 p.m. Masonic service Monday evening at 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials be given to Porter County VNA Hospice or a charity of your choice.
