Ward Eugene Anderson, 70, 501 Hart. St., Apt 206, died at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Feb 6, 2001 at this home.

Born Feb. 27, 1930 in Vincennes, he was the son of Willard E. and Sylvia [sic] (Allen) Anderson.

He had worked as a truck driver and was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.  He served on the American Legion VFW firing squad and was a past chef de gare of the 40 et 8.

Survivors include three daughters, Sandy Purvis of Lakeland, Fla., Linda Walsh of McLean, Va., and Kim Winbigler of Annapolis, Md.; a son, Ward E. Anderson Jr. of Raleigh, N.C., a companion, Margaret Ann Whitmer of Vincennes; a brother, Alvis Anderson of Vincennes; and eight grandchildren.  A sister is deceased.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Goodwin Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.
