He was born on April 17, 1899, in McLeansboro, Ill. and was the son of Oliver and Edith Willard Anderson.
A resident of Vincennes since 1934, he had retired in 1971 after 26 years with the Knox County Farm Bureau.
Survivors include his wife, Myra Dukes Anderson; sons, Samuel R. Anderson and William J. Anderson, both of Merritt Island, Fla.; daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Thelma) Due of Scottfield, Mich. and Mrs. Edith Reno of Vincennes; brothers, Willard and Francis Anderson, both of Vincennes; Charles Anderson, of Anderson and Ernest Anderson of Cocoa Beach, Fla; and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Flummerfelt-Goodwin Funeral Home.

Friends of S. Dwight Anderson may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Flummerfelt-Goodwin Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. Stephen Kuntz officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
