Paul G. "Choo Choo" Anderson, 59, of Anderson, died unexpectedly Saturday evening at St. John's Medical Center.

He was born in Vincennes and had lived in the Anderson community since 1936.  He retired in 1983 from Conrail as an engineer following 27 years of service.  He had also been an employee of Pierce Governor and Indiana Bell.  He was a 1948 graduate of Lawrenceville High School and a Navy veteran of the Korean War.  He was a member of Fellowship Masonic Lodge 681, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, American Legion Post 469, Voiture 510 40 & 8, Fraternal Order of Eagles Eerie 174 and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Doris A. (Taylor) Anderson; his father Charles Anderson of Anderson; two sons, Mark Anderson of Bloomington and Joe Anderson of Portland, Ore.; two daughters, Paula Jellison of Noblesville and Sallie Anderson of Indianapolis; six sisters, Louise Downey, Ginny Anderson and Dorothy Shanklin, all of Anderson, Betty Anderson of Chesterfield, Connie Corwin of Elgin, Ill., and Wilma Hopkins of Homosassa, Fla.; three grandsons; one granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1:30 a.m. Thursday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home, 200 W. 53rd St., with the Rev. Harold R. Clark officiating.  Burial will be in Anderson memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the National Wildlife Foundation or American Heart Association.
