Notes:
The Marriage Records for the 1st marriage has Augustus Jennings misspelled as Gennings.

Found in the Keller Library, Dexter Missouri, a file card with a newspaper article adhered.  The front of the card was hand written "Lonnie Jennings Died 10/1/1884 Near Piketon, Parent: Gus Jennings". The article attached was from the Bloomfield Vindicator, Saturday, 10/9/1884 and stated:
  "A very serious affair occurred near Piketon last Sat.  Gus Jennings had two sons aged 9 and 7. They had been out picking blackberries and, on returning home, they were asked if the berries were plentiful.  One answered that they were and the other that they were not.  From this, words multiplied.  The younger boy struck his brother and then started to run. His brother ran after him and stabbed him about the neck, soon after which death ensued.  The boy has waived preliminary examination until circuit court.  The mother of the boys died over a year ago. Much sympathy is expressed in the neighborhood for the family."

Judging from the dates and the recorded death on 10/1/1884 of George Jennings, the hand-written note on the front of the card stated the incorrect child's name.  Lonnie wasn't even born until 1888.
