Notes:    
Homer's mother died when he was an infant and his father couldn't keep the family together so he gave Homer to Jacob and Margaret Immer, who adopted him.  Although Homer assumed the surname Immer, it was normally prefaced with Petty and two of his sons assumed the surname of Petty.
