Samuel served in the Vermont Line in the Revolutionary War. He enlisted in Capt. Veal's
Co., Col. Beedle's Reg't. for 10 months in 1775-6. He spent 1 year in

He moved from Vermont to Albany County, New York on 26 May 1832, with his son David.
