Notes:

Verbal family history states that five Farris brothers (Ian's sons) came to America from Wales. This is strengthened by McPherson in her "Nation Builders", where she states that Ian's son, Henry, came from Wales.  Randall Farris, 215 Homewood Ave., Troy, AL 36081, who compiled the family history, speculates that the five Farris brothers, who were probably b. in N.C., could have been back in Wales for many reasons. They might have been sent back to Wales for education. Or they were back "East" on business-- William was named "sheriff of all North Carolina" and is later thought to have gone to Wilmington, N.C. and had a fleet of ships that was commissioned by the King to "supply the Islands off the coast of America".
