Notes:
George was both a teacher and a farmer in Fairfield.  He served as a sergeant in the War of 1812 in the 1st Regiment (Sherwin's) Massachusetts Militia and was a clerk for the company.  Because of his service, Mary was given a land warrant for 160 acres after his death (about 1853).
