Notes:
Noah was first married to Rebecca Carlisle who died sometime after 1855.
Noah owned the Hoover Hill Gold Mine. In his will proved in August 1861,
he gave each of his children an interest in the mine. There is a record of
a marriage of Noah Briles and Hattie McBride in Randolph County in 1860 which
needs to be investigated further. It isn't known whether Harriet was
previously married and Florence, being born before 1860, maintained the maiden name of Briles throughout
her life.
