After
Emeline died, the boys were given up to other families to raise. Frederick
was adopted by Henry & Ellen (Gage) Wilber on 29 Nov 1871 and Daniel was raised
by his maternal grandparents, Samuel & Minerva Benge. There is a Birth/Christening record on file for
Frederick that shows a birth of 25 May 1870 and that he was born in Spring
Arbor, Jackson Co. This needs to be investigated as he is shown in the
1870 census as 4 years old.
