Mary L. Allen listed in the 1930 census as a 'daughter' should be listed as
Dee's 'step-daughter'. In checking the 1920 census for Mary and her 1st
husband, William Wassum, Mary L. Allen is also detailed there as a
'step-daughter' to William, so she must have been Mary J's from a prior
relationship and not Dee's at all, as it would look in the 1930 census.
By 1940, Dee and Mary were in California, living with her daughter.
