Warren and his brother Carvel died as their boat capsized on a fishing trip.
On May 15, 1948, The Winona Republican-Herald of Winona, Minnesota
reported:
HACKENSACK, Minn. -- (AP)-- Three of four fishermen were
drown about 10 a.m. today when their boat capsized in heavy waves on Woman lake
12 miles east of here.
Sheriff J. Elmer Johnson of Cass county said the three victims
were: Warren Adams, Jackson, Minn., attorney; Carvel Adams, St. Paul, and a
third man as of yet unidentified.
Clem Hackle, St. Paul, clung to the edge of the overturned
boat and was saved.  The sheriff said he had suffered so from exposure he
could not give details of the mishap nor the names of his unidentified
companion.
None of the bodies had been recovered at noon, the sheriff
said.  He said dragging operations were being carried on be a crew of 40
